Rest In Power Brother John “Jack” Dimond

We mourn the passing of Retired Journeyman Inside Wireman Brother John (better known as Jack) L. Dimond, who was 89 years old, and had been a member for over 64 years.

Jack was born in San Diego, and graduated from Helix High. For the next 7 years, he explored life’s different avenues. By 1960, though, Jack would discover the Union electrical world, by being accepted into Local 569’s Joint Apprenticeship Training Program.

His first employer was S.D.G. & E. Jack continued to learn his craft at Burton Electric, S & Y Enterprises, and A.W. Myers. After graduating, he continued to hone his skills over the next 30+ years, by being dispatched to:  Myers (then A.W. Myers) – twice, Fischbach & Moore (F&M) – 4 times, Oliver & Sons – twice, Foshay – twice, Service Electric, Standard, Capitol, Arrow, American, Atlas, South Bay, Morrow-Meadows,  S.D.G.& E. (again), Chula Vista, and Bechtel (12 separate dispatches). Two of these dispatches were as a Foreman.

Brother Dimond fully retired in early 1997. He was living out of state at the time of his passing.
