2026 Primary Voting Guide – IBEW 569

June 2, 2026 PRIMARY ELECTION ENDORSEMENTS*

Remember to vote by June 2!

IBEW 569’s non-partisan endorsement process is demanding. We support candidates, not based on their party affiliation, but on whether they will champion IBEW priorities — from policies that put our members to work, to the protection of our pensions, benefits, and our right to bargain. Local candidates seeking our endorsement must first take Labor 101, a course designed by the San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council (SDICLC) that explains the importance of unions to ensuring pathways to the middle-class continue to exist in the U.S. They subsequently undergo a battery of COPE interviews with affiliates of the SDICLC and the San Diego Building Trades Council, which IBEW 569 participates in, before being invited to seek an endorsement with IBEW 569. The committee responsible for recommending endorsements to the IBEW 569 General Membership is IBEW 569’s Legislative Committee.

The IBEW 569 Legislative Committee is open to any IBEW 569 member. Members attend monthly meetings to discuss and deliberate on elections and legislative priorities. Members interview candidates and determine allocations from IBEW 569’s Political Action Committee, which is voluntarily funded by our members.

Candidates seeking IBEW 569’s endorsement must first complete a rigorous questionnaire. Upon completion, they are invited to interview with IBEW 569’s Legislative Committee. The Committee then deliberates, votes, and recommends endorsements to the full IBEW 569 Membership. It is at the monthly IBEW 569 General Membership meetings that the full body votes to accept — or not — the Legislative Committee’s recommended endorsements. Below you will find the complete list of those endorsements for the 2026 Primary.
