IBEW 569 Rescinds Endorsement of Rep. Eric Swalwell

San Diego, CA – On April 10, 2026, disturbing allegations of unacceptable behavior were leveled against Swalwell. IBEW 569 initiated a process to review and revisit our endorsement of Swalwell. 

IBEW 569’s endorsements follow a democratic process. As such, the review of Rep. Swalwell’s endorsement was also vetted through a democratic process. 

By an overwhelming majority, our members voted to rescind IBEW 569’s endorsement of Eric Swalwell for Governor.

It takes tremendous courage to come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct and rape, to be exposed to public scrutiny and attacks. Multiple women have done so against Swalwell.

These allegations should be taken seriously and thoroughly investigated.
