DESCRIPTION:Low wage earners\, unions and our communities are under attack so we will keep the momentum going\, push forward in the Fight for $15 – everyone deserves a living wage and no one who works full time should be in poverty. This event will also prepare our communities to vote in 2016 on the issues that matter to our communities! \n\nWe’re standing together on November 10 to say\, “We need a raise! \n\nPeople across the country will be standing up with fast-food workers\, homecare workers\, retail workers and all 64 million people who makeless than $15\, because it’s time for $15 to be the wage floor and not the wage ceiling for majority of the working class in this country! \n\nTogether we’re turning the tide in favor of working people and our families and we will not back down! \n\nBe a part of this historic moment in the fight oto ver income inequality and racial justice.  \nThe Fight for $15 is lead by workers who are fighting to raise wages for their familes. DESCRIPTION:Join IBEW 569 at LUNG FORCE Walk – San Diego 2015\nIBEW 569 is strengthening our partnership with the American Lung Association to fight lung disease.  We are especially concerned about our members and families in the Imperial Valley where cases of lung disease and asthma are increasing due to the drying-up of the Salton Sea. We are hopeful that we can work together to invest in Salton Sea solutions\, including geothermal energy. \nJoin IBEW 569 and walk with our team on Sunday\, November 8\, at the LUNG FORCE Walk at the Embarcadero Marina Park South! \nThis year’s exciting event includes LUNG FORCE passport travel\, family fun\, musical performances by DJ Sage\, a special appearance by the San Diego Padres Pad Squad and Friar\, Dr. Cleo of Molina Healthcare\, LUNG FORCE Hero meet & greet\, a visit by our FORCE\, the Star Wars characters\, and a wonderful 5K walk in the park along the water as well as a shorter LUNG FORCE loop option\, that will be marked by Turquoise pinwheels. Well behaved dogs on leash are welcome. \nWHEN: Sunday\, November 8\, 2015 \n7:00 am: Check-in\, festivities\, heroes and more…\n9:00 am: Walk starts \nWHERE: Embarcadero Marina Park South\n200 Marina Park Way\nSan Diego\, CA 92101 \nParking: Parking meters are 2 hour parking on Sunday so please use the parking lots on Imperial Ave. and 11th and a free shuttle will run from this lot to the Walk site beginning at 7:00 am. SUMMARY:IBEW 569 at Three Wise Men Veterans Tribute Event
DESCRIPTION:The sad reality is that our returning veterans are struggling.  We lose between 22 and 50 a day to suicide. But there is a way we can help.   \nOn Saturday\, November 7 www.3wm.org/midway.   \nThe Three Wise Men Foundation was created in honor of the Wise brothers:  Jeremy Wise\, Ben Wise\, and Beau Wise.  Jeremy was a Navy SEAL who was killed in action in Afghanistan.  Ben was an Army Green Beret who died in combat just over two years after Jeremy. Beau Wise remains on active duty in the Marine Corps.  The Three Wise Men Tribute is a unique workout experience that honors Jeremy and Ben-those veterans who gave that last full measure of devotion\, but raises money for transition programs that support the Beau Wises of the world—those veterans who survived combat and are now trying to survive the peace that follows.   \nIf you work out at a local Crossfit affiliate you can sign up to do the same workout in your home gym on Veterans Day (Wednesday\, November 11th).
