Volunteer with IBEW 569 this Month

April 3, 2013

One of the greatest things about our Local is our members' willingness to step up as leaders in the community, donating time and energy to make San Diego a better place to live, work and raise a family. This month, we have several opportunities where you can plug in to support your community and help strengthen your Local Union:

CHRISTMAS IN APRIL: SATURDAY, APRIL 27TH

The "Christmas in April" event is IBEW Local 569's largest annual community-based volunteer event. Together with our partners at "Rebuilding Together," we will go out into the community and put our electrical skills to work helping low-income residents. Past projects include upgrading homes for veterans and the elderly. It's a unique day to make a difference in the lives of a local San Diegan as well as mix and mingle with other IBEW sisters and brothers.

DETAILS: Saturday, April 27th. Meet at Union Hall at 7:00 a.m. BBQ lunch will be provided.

RSVP: Contact Andrew McKercher at amckercher@ibew569.org or 858-569-8900

EARTH FAIR BOOTH IN BALBOA PARK: SUNDAY, APRIL 21ST

San Diego's annual Earth Fair celebration in Balboa Park is one of the largest and oldest in the country. This is an opportunity for IBEW Local 569 members to connect with other San Diegans who share our values for sustainable, healthy communities and clean air and water. This year, we'll be hosting a booth and asking visitors to sign a petition to protect the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). This landmark environmental law is currently being attacked by greedy corporate interests who trying to limit the ability of ordinary Californians from weighing in on development projects in our community.

DETAILS: Sunday, April 21st from 7:30 - 5:00 in Balboa Park. Volunteers needed for two-hour shifts. Booth location and map will be provided.

RSVP: Contact Micah Mitrosky at mmitrosky@ibew569.org or 858-569-8900 or text 619-957-2596.

Thank you again for everything you do, both on and off the job site, to give back to our community and to strengthen our Brotherhood!

In Unity,
