Passing of Journeyman Inside Wireman Joseph H. Odell

September 17, 2019

We mourn the passing of Brother Odell, who passed on September 9, 2019. He was 38 years old, and had been a Local 569 member for 12 years.

As a young adult, Brother Odell chose to serve our country in the U.S. Navy, for two years. Then, at age 26, and with a very young family, he saw the value that was our Local’s Joint Apprenticeship Training Program. As a 1st step Apprentice Inside Wireman, he began his career at Morrow-Meadows, where he’d work for almost three years. His next shop would be Neal Electric, where he’d stay for almost two years. He completed his apprenticeship training while working for CSI Electric, and then back to Morrow-Meadows during his last week of school. As a Journeyman, Brother Odell worked for Baker Electric, HMT, then to Robinson as a Foreman, before returning to Morrow-Meadows, in May of this year. Whenever he would come into our office to pay his dues, he will be remembered as a kind and polite person.

Services will be at 10 am, this Wednesday, Sept. 18th, at the Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcalá, 10818 San Diego Mission Rd, San Diego, CA 92108
