CHULA VISTA — There are 11 candidates running for three open seats on the Chula Vista Elementary School District's Board of Education. District trustees earn $700 per month for their service.

Incumbent Douglas Luffborough is defending his seat against challengers John Buzzi, Willard "Doc" Howard and Archie McAllister. Incumbent Pam Smith is defending her seat against Brenda Ruacho and Francisco "Pancho" Sevilla. Incumbent Larry Cunningham is defending his seat against Patti Boman, Nick Segura and Diego Vargas.
